Search: The Naina Murder Case web series starts with the makers showing how Naina Marathe, a teenager gets brutally stabbed to death in the outskirts of Navi Mumbai. After her murder, she was kept in the backside of a car by killers and was thrown in a 25-30 feet deep pond.
ACP Sanyukta Das is played by Konkona Sen Sharma who is leaving the Crime Cell and going to Ahmedabad to settle with family and join the cyber crime gets the case. She gets assigned to the case as lead investigator.
ACP Jai Kanwal played by Surya Sharma is the new officer who has joined the office as replacement of ACP Das. As a result, they both start investigating the case. However, in the due course of time, ACP Das gets the charge of the case due to her experience.
Initially the prime suspects were Aarav, Ojas, and Lavanya- the three college friends of Naina. Ojas was Naina's ex boyfriend, Aarav was Ojas's best friend and Lavanya was Naina's best friend.
During the investigation, it was established that none of the friends killed Naina.
Then another suspect comes to the fore and he is none other than Vinayak. Vinayak is Naina's father's business employee. However, he also denies killing Naina in the end.
Search: The Naina Murder Case Season 1 does not unveil the name of the killer and it has left fans and viewers with multiple clues.
Most of clues hint that Naina was may be killed by Tushar Surve played by actor Shiv Panditt. One of the key clues that the makers dropped is Naina had a Rs 4 lakh worth hand bag that only Tushar-like character could afford.
Also, Tushar never revealed where was he during the time of his murder. In fact, he gave a false statement to the Police which was false corroborated by his publicist that he was also dating.
At the end of the series, Tushar's publicist reveals that there is a mole in the crime cell team who is helping Tushar.
When the publicist informs ACP Das about a mole, the camera pans toward ACP Jay who shoots Vinayak from behind. Many fans believe that the makers have pin pointed that ACP Jay is the mole but the makers have kept it as unanswered question for season 2.
Another mole suspect is the boss of both the ACPs i.e. Das and Jay.
