In a major breakthrough against organised crime, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police achieved a significant success by arresting three notorious criminals, including the prime accused Mankaran Deol, following a brief crossfire incident early this morning. The arrested individuals have been identified as Mankaran Deol, Jaiveer, and Simarjit who are close aide of dreaded gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria.
Police said the gangsters were traveling in a vehicle displaying press stickers, likely to avoid suspicion, when CIA staff members of Jalandhar City Police received a tip-off about their movements near Salempur Masanda. Officers quickly set up a checkpoint to intercept the vehicle. When the police attempted to stop them, the accused opened fire, prompting officers to retaliate. Illegal firearms were recovered from the vehicle.
Divulging the details Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur said that an FIR No. 303/25 under Sections 109, 351, 3(5) BNS, and 25/27 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Rama Mandi. "Acting swiftly on human and technical intelligence, a police team intercepted the accused near Salempur Masanda when they were attempting to flee the district.
Mankaran Deol, described as a close associate of dreaded gangsters Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Amritpal Bath, was wanted in several heinous crimes. His criminal involvement includes FIR No. 32/25 registered at GRP Jalandhar and the sensational ‘Dharma’ murder case (FIR No. 193) at Police Station Chheharta, Amritsar, under multiple sections of the BNS and Arms Act.
During the operation, police recovered one foreign-made 9mm pistol along with two live cartridges from the accused’s possession.
The CP said the arrests mark a major step in dismantling organised crime networks in Jalandhar and nearby regions. “The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police remains fully committed to ensuring public safety and will continue to take strict legal action against anyone involved in criminal or illegal activities,” she asserted.
