In view of the grand Shobha Yatra to be taken out in Jalandhar on January 31, 2026, on the occasion of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji’s Prakash Purab, holiday has been announced in all schools.
Jalandhar DC Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal issued an official order stating that all government, non-government schools and colleges within the limits of Jalandhar district will remain closed on January 31. The decision has been taken keeping religious sentiments of the people and the convenience and safety of the students in mind.
However, the order clarified that the holiday will not apply to those schools and colleges where board or university examinations are scheduled on the said date. In such cases, the examinations will be conducted as per the pre-decided schedule.
