

Sanjeev Arora case continues to remain in focus as Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids linked to him are still ongoing at several locations as the ED carried out searches early Friday morning at premises linked to the Punjab Cabinet Minister in Ludhiana and teams reached his residence in the morning while Central Armed Police Forces were deployed outside to secure the area and searches were also conducted at other locations connected to him and his associates.
According to sources the action is linked to an alleged money laundering case and possible irregularities in land deals however the ED has not released any official statement confirming the exact details of the case so far and officials and sources indicate that search operations are still continuing at some locations and documents and records are being examined as part of the investigation.
In a related development the ED also conducted a raid at the residence of Jalandhar-based real estate businessman Chandra Shekhar Aggarwal who is considered a close associate of Arora and the team reached his residence early in the day and began search operations and entry was restricted during the raid and officials examined documents at the site.
Earlier this week the ED had also conducted searches linked to Ashok Mittal in Jalandhar where ED teams reached his residence and other properties early in the morning with police deployed outside during the operation and according to reports searches are still ongoing at some locations including educational institutions linked to him.
Sources said the searches are being carried out under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) in connection with suspected foreign exchange violations however officials have not issued any detailed statement about the case yet and the investigation in both matters is ongoing and further details are awaited.
