Long-awaited road construction and renovation work in Surya Enclave has officially started today. The area had been completely ignored by politicians for the past 18 years, causing daily inconvenience for local residents.
Under the persistent efforts and leadership of Nitin Kohli, AAP Jalandhar Central Halka In-Charge, this road project has now become a reality. The project has an estimated investment of ₹5.10 crore, and the construction work is set to be completed before 31st March 2026.
The plan includes strengthening the main road near Kendriya Sadan in Surya Enclave using advanced road construction technology. Internal streets of the colony will also be repaired and renovated, providing much-needed relief to residents in their daily commute.

Local residents have welcomed the commencement of the work and expressed appreciation. They believe that upon completion, traffic movement will improve, and the overall image of the area will be enhanced. Surya Enclave and nearby areas are expected to become more developed with safe and robust road facilities.
Due to Nitin Kohli’s persistent efforts, Surya Enclave and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Avenue were transferred from the Improvement Trust to the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation. With the start of this road construction work, the long-pending demands of the residents have been fulfilled, and this development will bring real improvement to their everyday lives.
On this occasion, prominent residents of Surya Enclave and surrounding areas were also present, including Harjinder Singh, Talvinder Singh, Rajeev Dhamija, Rakesh Behal, Gulshan Agrawal, Pawan Dhawan, Rohit Gupta, Rahul Gupta, Ankush Agrawal, and Varun Agrawal. They appreciated the tireless efforts and continuous leadership of Nitin Kohli, stating that his initiative made this road construction work possible. This will bring real improvement to the daily lives of residents and elevate the overall development of Surya Enclave to a new level.
