The renovation of building in New Jawahar Nagar in Jalandhar where once iconic Heat-7 restaurant operated has been marred with legal complications. Jalandhar Municipal Corporation has issued a notice to Bansal Sweets.
Amritsar's famous Bansal Sweets is opening its branch in place on Heart-7. As per sources, Heat-7 is likely to relocate to a new place.
A complaint has been given to Jalandhar Municipal Corporation (MC) in which it has been alleged that the construction of the Bansal sweets shop is illegal, and both the sides of the building have allegedly encroached upon the market’s parking space.
To address the concern, Jalandhar MC Commissioner Gautam Jain had called representatives of two sweets shops- Bansal Sweets and Ghanshyam Sweets.
While Ghanshyam Sweets representatives visited Jalandhar Municipal Corporation on Monday, the representatives of Bansal Sweets visited the MC on Tuesday.
On being asked about the controversy, Jalandhar Corporation Commissioner Gautam Jain said that a notice has been issued to Bansal Sweets asking them about the details of renovation that is currently ongoing. In order to do renovation in the building, a permission must be taken from the Corporation.
Bansal Sweets has informed MC that they bought the building from Heat-7. The previous building map, approved for Heat-7, already exists, but the complainant alleges Bansal Sweets is carrying out additional renovation without the necessary permissions.
