Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the acquittal of the party’s National Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia by the court will be recorded as the biggest victory of truth and honesty in the history of Indian democracy.
Launching a sharp attack on the BJP, Minister Bains said that the acquittal of AAP leaders proves that the investigating agencies had no solid basis for the case. He said the opposition created noise over a fake ₹100 crore scam, but on the ground not even a single penny was recovered. It has now become clear that the entire case was a cheap political conspiracy woven solely to stop the rising popularity of Arvind Kejriwal. Investigating agencies were used as political weapons, and today that attempt has failed miserably.
Taking a strong swipe at the functioning of the BJP-led central government, Bains said that Manish Sisodia was kept behind bars for two years and Arvind Kejriwal for six months. He said they did not even consider that Manish Sisodia’s wife was battling a serious illness and Arvind Kejriwal is a diabetic patient. Politics is one thing, he said, but the opposition crossed all limits of inhumanity. Today, the court’s verdict has delivered a resounding slap to these dictatorial forces.
Bains said the entire country now understands that Arvind Kejriwal’s politics is the politics of work. Transforming government schools and building world-class hospitals were the real “crimes” for which attempts were made to punish them. However, by the grace of Guru Sahib, truth has prevailed.
Warning the opposition regarding upcoming elections, Harjot Bains said that this verdict is a positive signal for the future. In the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, we will shatter our own 2022 record. The people will respond to every act of oppression by the opposition through the power of their vote.
