An alleged bomb threat email was received by Army Public School in Jalandhar Cantonment at 12:11 PM, warning of possible bomb blasts at rallies and trains between November 1 and 4. The email reportedly also cautioned people against travelling to Delhi during these dates, raising concerns over a potential security threat.

The message allegedly mentioned plans to carry out Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blasts near railway tracks in Amritsar, Bathinda, Ludhiana and Ferozepur. It also contained references to the 1984 events, describing the alleged threat as an act of revenge.

Railway tracks in four Punjab cities mentioned

According to the contents of the email, railway infrastructure in Amritsar, Bathinda, Ludhiana and Ferozepur was specifically mentioned as a potential target. The message warned of possible IED explosions near railway tracks and referred to the November 1–4 period.

The email also reportedly advised people not to travel to Delhi during these dates and warned of possible attacks at rallies and on trains.

Rahul Gandhi mentioned in threat

The email further reportedly contained a threat directed at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, warning that he could be harmed in a manner similar to his father, former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

It allegedly linked the threat to revenge for the events of 1984, although the claims and motives mentioned in the email remain unverified.

Security concerns following the email

The threat has raised concerns over the safety of public places, railway infrastructure and political gatherings in the region. The authenticity of the email and the claims made in it will need to be established through an official investigation.

A threat email does not by itself establish that explosives have been planted or that an attack is being planned. Further details regarding the police response, security checks and official statements are awaited.
