KAPURTHALA,28 June : A shocking incident of broad-daylight murder took place on Sunday afternoon in the Lahori Gate area of Kapurthala, where a man was fatally attacked with sharp-edged weapons. The seriously injured victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital by local residents, but the attending doctor declared him dead on arrival. The incident has created panic and fear throughout the locality.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the City Police reached the scene, took custody of the body, and began an investigation. Confirming the incident, DSP (Sub-Division) Sheetal Singh identified the deceased as **Jatinder Sehgal, alias Jinder**, a resident of Lahori Gate.
According to preliminary information, at around **4:00 PM**, a group of unidentified assailants surrounded Jatinder Sehgal in the Lahori Gate neighborhood and attacked him repeatedly with sharp weapons. After carrying out the assault, the attackers fled the scene. Local residents immediately shifted the injured man to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
DSP Sheetal Singh stated that the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination and that a detailed investigation is underway. Initial findings suggest that the murder was the result of personal rivalry. He also confirmed that the police have identified **three suspects** involved in the attack and are conducting raids to arrest them.
