The much-awaited Chandigarh to Udaipur City Superfast Train is starting from September 25, 2025. As per reports, PM Modi will flag off Chandigarh to Udaipur City new train from Banswara via video conferencing.
Notably, Northern Railways on September 24 had shared official announcement of Chandigarh to Udaipur Train. It took to its official X handle and wrote,"(Translated version) Inauguration of New Superfast Express Train Service Between Udaipur City-Chandigarh Jn. Railway Stations
All railway passengers are informed that the railway is inaugurating the regular service of Train No. 20989/20990 New Superfast Express Train between Udaipur City and Chandigarh Jn. stations."
The new Chandigarh to Udaipur City Superfast Express Train will run 2-days a week- on Thursday and on Sunday. The direct connection between two major tourist destinations, Udaipur and Chandigarh, is expected to boost the tourism industry.
Train Number 20990 Chandigarh to Udaipur City will depart from Chandigarh 11:30 am and will reach Udaipur City at 5:25 am the next day. Continue reading below to know about the stoppages-

The Udaipur City-Chandigarh inaugural special rail service will depart from Udaipur City at 2.30 PM, passing through Rana Pratapnagar (2.40 PM), Mavli (3.13 PM), Kapasan (3.41 PM), Chanderiya (4.25 PM), Bhilwara (5.10 PM), Bijaynagar (5.58 PM), and Ajmer (7.15 PM), reaching Chandigarh at 8.15 AM the next day. Similarly, the Chandigarh-Udaipur City inaugural special rail service will depart from Chandigarh at 11.20 AM on Friday, reaching Udaipur City at 5.25 AM on Saturday.
