A four-year-old boy who went missing from the Basti Bawa Khel area of Jalandhar has been safely traced and reunited with his family after an intensive search by the Commissionerate Police.
The case received priority attention from Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, while his OSD Rajbir Singh Ghuman personally followed up on the matter and maintained coordination with senior police officials to ensure swift action.
Ghuman remained in touch with Jalandhar Police Commissioner Satinder Singh as police teams worked on multiple leads and examined CCTV footage from the area. The coordinated follow-up helped keep the search focused on securing the child’s safe recovery.
According to the police, information about the child’s disappearance was received at around 2 pm on September 17. Initial investigation indicated that two persons riding an Activa had allegedly taken the child with them. A case was registered at Basti Bawa Khel Police Station and multiple police teams were deployed.
Police teams examined CCTV footage from surrounding areas and followed available leads to trace the child. The search operation continued through the evening and night, with assistance from family members, local residents and information shared through various channels.
The child was eventually found safe and, after completion of the necessary formalities, handed over to his family. Reports said the recovery came after roughly 8 hours of intensive efforts.
The safe return of the child came after the matter was taken up on priority at the Chief Minister’s level. OSD Rajbir Singh Ghuman’s continued follow-up and coordination with the police ensured that the case remained under close attention while police teams carried out the ground-level search. The police have acknowledged the assistance provided by the family, local residents, social-media users and media organisations in helping circulate information and support the search.
