In accordance with a local court's orders, the PAU police station filed a formal complaint (FIR) against 13 individuals, including directors and acquaintances associated with Janpath Estate, alleging forgery, falsification of corporate documents, and unlawful sale of company land. The PAU station house officer was instructed by the court to carry out a thorough inquiry into the allegation made by Janpath Estate Pvt Ltd director Mahesh Goyal. Goyal said in his lawsuit that some of the company's directors and colleagues had conspired illegally to seize his portion of a prime plot of property in Jhammat village, Ludhiana, that measured 11 kanals and 8 marlas and was close to the Sidhwan Canal. The land had been purchased by the company through a registered sale deed, and according to the complainant, all directors had contributed equally to the purchase.

Goyal accused Vinay Singhal and Pawan Kumar Goyal of fabricating a board resolution dated April 10, 2023, without calling a legitimate meeting of the company's board of directors or getting his approval, reportedly in collusion with other accused. The complaint further claimed that fabricated general power of attorney (GPA) documents and authority letters dated January 31, 2025, and February 4, 2025, were made in order to deceitfully provide Pardeep Aggarwal, another accused, permission to handle and sell the company's land. The complaint claims that Aggarwal then signed contracts to sell the property to a number of others, reportedly using forged paperwork. The complainant has alleged that the agreements were ante-dated to November 30, 2021 and printed on non-judicial stamp papers that were originally issued for Faridkot district in 2020, rather than Ludhiana, indicating that the documents may have been forged.

Rajesh Kumar, Chaman Lal, Saleel Goyal, Rakesh Goyal, Khushboo Bansal, Kanchan Bansal, Vivek Goyal, Ravinder Kumar Jain, and Amita Jain are among the suspected purchasers listed in the lawsuit. Goyal also claimed that the accused threatened him and tried to further dispose of the property by altering the land's characteristics through building when he opposed and sought the cancellation of the purportedly fake paperwork.

The court stated that a thorough inquiry is necessary, including confirmation of business records, the authenticity of stamp paper, registration documents, and potential forensic analysis of the contested documents. As a result, the court ordered the SHO of the PAU police station to file a formal complaint and carry out an exhaustive investigation in compliance with the law. The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been imposed in sections 318 (4), 335, 336 (1), 336 (2), 338, 339, 340 (2), 344, 351 (2), and 351 (3).
