11 days after the firing incident at the BMS Fashion Showroom located on Kishanpura Road, police attempted to apprehend one of the accused. However, the suspect allegedly shot fire on the police, leading to a retaliatory exchange of gunfire. During the encounter, the accused got a bullet injury on his leg subsequently leading to his arrest. CP Satinder Singh assured the public that such miscreants will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those who take law in their hands and disrupt the peace of the society. He also appealed the youth to stay away from such evil practices and not to destroy their lives practicing them.
In an interaction with DCP Manpreet Dhillon, he shared information that said that on June 12, two motorcycle-borne youths opened fire at the BMS Showroom near Kishanpura Chowk. Following the attack, the accused allegedly demanded ₹50 lakh in extortion money from the showroom owners. The police got control of one the young man with the help of CCTV and human input. On questioning the accused about the remaining members of the group, information about Naval alias Billa was received. The CIA team got control of him 2 days ago. In further investigation it was found that the vehicle used in the firing was hidden near Jamsher Dairy. Acting on this information, a CIA Staff team led by Surinder took the accused to the location to recover the vehicle.
According to the DCP, upon reaching the spot, the accused suddenly retrieved an uninformed weapon that had been concealed alongside the motorcycle and opened fire on the police team. The accused reportedly fired four rounds at the police. The police authorities reverted equally in self defence. During the exchange of fire, Billa was shot in the leg and got injured so he was immediately taken into custody and admitted to a hospital for treatment.
When asked about the mastermind behind this crime, it was informed that these accidents are being carried out by Ekam who lives in UK. He manipulates the local youth to carry out such offenses for money. Police records show that Billa is already facing two criminal cases. Officials believe that further interrogation of the accused may lead to additional revelations regarding the extortion racket and other criminal activities linked to the case.
