Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is currently in Patiala for the shooting of his upcoming film. On Tuesday, a controversy erupted during Diljit Dosanjh's movie shooting in Patiala. The shooting was done in Bansawala Bazaar.
According to reports, local protestors started to protest against Diljit Dosanjh's film shooting. It has been revealed that local shopkeepers turned angry after they found that the film's shooting was going on outside their shops without permission. It has been alleged that the shopkeepers were stopped by the police officers when they tried to go their shops as shooting was going on.
Furthermore, shopkeepers then saw Urdu-language signboards were placed by the film-crew onto their shops without taking permission. This angered shopkeepers even more resulting in protest and ruckus by them.
It is pertinent to mention here that despite the protest, the shooting continued smoothly and Diljit Dosanjh left the location after completing his scenes.
A shopkeeper was quoted saying that this area comes under the jurisdiction of the Kotwali police station. Police barricaded the market and closed it for film shooting. Shooting continued until 9:30 am. When it was time to open the shops, they were prevented from opening.
He said, "Customers were also not allowed into the market, which caused us losses. Therefore, we protested. No one took permission from us to shoot here. This is our private property. We were not even informed of the shooting."
Report further suggest that for the past few days shooting of Diljit's movie is going on at several heritage locations in Patiala. Many scenes have reportedly been filmed at the historic Qila Mubarak. However, details about Diljit's upcoming film’s title and cast remain undisclosed.
