'Don't give it to anyone': CM Mann promises to keep Harmanpreet Kaur's WC winning ball in museum

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday honoured Punjab-origin women's cricketers in Mullanpur. CM Mann handed over cheques of Rs 11 lakh to Indian Women's Cricket Team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, Amanjot Kaur, and Harleen Deol.

CM Mann also inaugurated two stands at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in honour of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh and Indian women team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur. Deepak Bali, Advisor, Culture and Tourism, in Government of Punjab, was also present with CM Mann when Harmanpreet Kaur and others were honoured.

During the event, CM Mann was seen interacting with Harmanpreet Kaur and Yuvraj Singh in quite friendly manner. Laughter were echoing when CM Mann was having a chat with Harmanpreet and Yuvraj.

'Don't give your ball to anyone', says CM Bhagwant Mann to Harmanpreet Kaur

When CM Mann was having a chat, someone in the group stated that Harmanpreet Kaur not only took the final catch of the match that sealed Indian Women's Cricket Team's historic victory but also kept the ball with herself.

On this Yuvraj Singh said, "And, don't give it to anyone."

Then, CM Mann said, "You must definitely keep it with yourself. Later, we will place it in a museum. And look at the catch Harmanpreet took, in the 1983 World Cup final, Kapil Dev took the iconic catch, and Harman took the last catch in the Women’s World Cup final."

Thereafter CM Mann also remembered Amanjot Kaur's juggling catch. For the unversed, Amanjot Kaur’s sensational running and juggling catch that dismissed South African captain Laura Wolvaardt on 101, calling it the turning point of India’s 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup victory.

CM Mann said, "Look at Amanjot’s juggling catch. She didn’t just take a catch, she caught the entire match."
