Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu, wife of former cricketer and former Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu, on Saturday announced her resignation from the Congress party. She said she was bidding farewell to a party where hardworking and capable leaders are not heard and decisions are taken based on personal interests.

Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu made several serious allegations directly targeting Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. Notably, she was suspended from the party on December 8, 2025. Over the past few months, she had been openly critical of senior Punjab Congress leaders, which had also triggered internal opposition within the party.

Allegations of Corruption Against Raja Warring

After quitting the Congress, Dr. Navjot Kaur wrote on social media platform ‘X’ that Raja Warring is the most dangerous and corrupt president the party has ever had. She alleged that to destroy the party, Warring joined hands with the Chief Minister to save himself from going to jail. She further accused him of “selling” the Congress by colluding with the Aam Aadmi Party for his personal gains.

Selective Action Against Leaders

Dr. Navjot Kaur questioned why a suspension letter was kept ready for her, while no action was taken against around 12 senior Congress leaders who allegedly worked with Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia to politically damage Navjot Singh Sidhu. She alleged that those leaders were rewarded with senior positions for ensuring Sidhu’s defeat.

Claim of Evidence, But No Interest Anymore

She claimed to possess sufficient evidence to politically destroy Raja Warring, but said she no longer has any interest in doing so, as she has already left a party where the voice of talented leaders is ignored.

Conspiracy Allegations on Her Seat

Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu alleged that select individuals were deliberately fielded on her seat with the sole intention of ensuring her defeat. She also questioned why no action was taken against senior leaders such as Ashu, Channi, Bhattal, Dr. Gandhi and others, who had openly challenged the party leadership.

Leaders Reduced to ReelsTaking a jibe at Raja Warring, she said he has become a laughing stock and people now enjoy his social media reels. She also appealed for an end to the humiliation of Congress leaders who continue to show affection and loyalty towards Navjot Singh Sidhu.

‘Leadership Busy Destroying the Party’

Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu said the leadership is more focused on destroying the party rather than winning elections. She urged the party leadership to feel ashamed for being dishonest towards their own parent organisation.

Denies Contact with Any Other Party

She clarified that she has neither met nor been contacted by leaders of the BJP, Aam Aadmi Party, or any other political party for political reasons. She said her decision was guided by her inner conscience and that she is answerable only to Waheguru.

Intends to Serve Through an NGO

Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu said she wishes to serve the people of Punjab, which she can accomplish through an NGO. Her aim is to understand the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib and to remain in the company of spiritually evolved saints.

Inclination Towards a Spiritual Path

She further said that she recently spent three peaceful days reflecting on the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and also received the blessings of spiritually enlightened saints such as Premanand Maharaj.
