SSP Muktasar, Dr Akhil Chaudhry, on Monday debunked the ongoing reports that two Punjab Police cops were on duty to guard CM Bhagwant Singh Mann's shoes.

On Sunday, multiple reports claimed that two policemen were assigned to take care of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s shoes during a visit to the historic Darbar Sahib Gurdwara in Sri Muktsar Sahib. The report has sparked a political storm in Punjab.

The reports stated that Head Constable Roop Singh from Faridkot and Constable Sarbat Singh from Ferozepur were deputed to guard the shoes of Punjab CM in civil clothes.

Debunking the viral claim, SSP Muktasar, Dr. Akhil Chaudhry issued a video statement in which he said, "I would like to clarify certain social media and print media posts regarding the visit of honourable CM of Punjab on November 2. A social media post is going viral with the claims that two Police officials were put on duty guard CM Mann's shoes."

"First of all I would like to clarify that CM Mann was on his official visit to inaugurate sewerage plant and lay foundation stone. There was only single event. There was no scheduled event of CM Mann for Sri Gurudwara Sahib. Similarly, I wish to clarify that don't share or spread unverified information."
