Failed MLA Pragat Singh should explain 15 years of non-performance: Taneja

Bharatiya Janata Party State Executive Member Amit Taneja strongly countered the statement made by Congress MLA from Jalandhar Cantt, Sardar Pragat Singh, stating that a leader who has failed continuously for the last 15 years has no moral right to comment on others.

Amit Taneja said that Pragat Singh is now making statements like a political Sheikhchilli, whose words are nothing more than hollow claims with no connection to ground reality. Throughout his long political career, he has failed to present any development report to the people of his constituency and is now resorting to baseless attacks on the BJP and its workers to hide his own failures.

He said that statements such as “BJP and khaki knicker wearers will not be allowed to enter villages” reflect the frustration and fear of the Congress party. Whenever Congress leaders are afraid of facing the people, they begin to threaten democratic values through such irresponsible language.

Amit Taneja further stated that the most important question still remains unanswered — what has Pragat Singh delivered to his constituency in the last 15 years? There is no infrastructure development, no employment opportunities, and no concrete policy for the youth. Now that people are demanding accountability, he is trying to divert attention through provocative statements.

Reacting to Pragat Singh’s remark calling the Union Budget “failed,” Amit Taneja said that the Congress party, which treated Punjab with step-motherly behaviour for decades, has no moral authority to comment on the budget. This budget brings relief for farmers, youth, traders, and the middle class of Punjab, but Congress has always been uncomfortable with the truth.

Issuing an open challenge, Amit Taneja said that if Pragat Singh has even a little political integrity left, he should accept a public debate and present an account of his 15 years of failure before the people.

The public no longer wants statements — they want accountability and results.

He made it clear that BJP workers will go village to village to communicate the policies and achievements of the central government and will neither be intimidated nor engage with threats from any failed MLA.

The time ahead does not belong to leaders who merely speak — it belongs to those who work on the ground.
