In a shocking development, a youth was murdered with sharp weapons at around 1 am during the annual fair in Guru Nanak Nagar near Nandarpur in Jalandhar. The deceased has been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, who was living on rent in Nandarpur. He belonged to a poor family and was living there for the last three months.

As per reports, 5 unknown persons came during the religious program late at night and started brandishing weapons as soon as they arrived. After which the victim's son Rahul stopped them from brandishing weapons. According to the victim, the deceased's son had stopped them from brandishing weapons in the fair. After which the miscreants started abusing the son.

After some time the said persons came again and attacked his son and his friend with a chisel. One person died in this incident.

The attackers also fired bullets. 3 people including him were injured in the incident. 2 women are among the injured. The police was informed about the incident. The police reached the spot and is investigating the matter.
