A 105-year-old tractor, that once lied in a dilapidated building in front of a dump near Bhagat Singh Chowk has now found its way to California. The antique tractor was sold for Rs 1.25 crore.
Puneet Wadhera, the owner of the shop adjacent to the building says that the locals had no idea that this tractor, which they considered as scrap was such a valuable possession. Reportedly, earlier the tractor was priced at Rs 2 Lakh and later Rs 28 Lakh by a tractor company in Mumbai, which were declined. And now, the tractor was finally sold to a foreign company for Rs 1.25 crore. Reports indicate that now this priced possession will be placed at a museum in California.
The Lanz Bulldog HL-12 tractor holds a special place in the vintage world. Built in Germany in the year 1921, this tractor was powered by a 200-horsepower single-cylinder hot-bulb engine that required warming up before starting. Following which, it delivered high power even at low speeds. The tractor was widely used for ploughing, water pumps and milling back in the day.
