Girls sweep top three spots in PSEB Class 12th with perfect 500/500

In a landmark moment for Punjab’s education sector, three girls students have scripted history by securing a perfect 500 out of 500 marks in the Class 12th board exams, results of which were declared today by Punjab School Education Board.

Supneet Kaur of Gurukul Academy Public Senior Secondary School, Ubbha (Mansa) clinched the top spot in the Science stream with a flawless 500/500. Suhani Chauhan of BCM Senior Secondary School, HM 150, Jamalpur Colony, Focal Point, Ludhiana secured the second position in the Humanities stream with 500/500, while Divanshi of Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Senior Secondary School, Shimlapuri (Ludhiana) bagged the third position, also in Humanities, with a perfect score. Notably, all the three toppers are also promising sportspersons.

A total of 2,65,417 students appeared for the annual examination, of which 2,42,755 passed, registering an impressive overall pass percentage of 91.46%. Stream-wise, Commerce recorded the highest pass percentage at 98.78 per cent with 34,074 of 34,496 students clearing the exam, followed by Science at 98.47 per cent with 55,593 of 56,456 passing. Humanities saw 1,45,179 of 1,65,457 students pass, registering 87.74 per cent, while the Vocational stream recorded 87.80 per cent with 7,909 of 9,008 students clearing the exam.

“This result is a reflection of the relentless hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers and the systematic reforms introduced by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government,” S. Harjot Bains stated.

While lauding the three toppers for their excellence, S. Bains wished all successful students the very best for their future. He also noted that multiple perfect scores across different streams were truly remarkable. He credited the state’s focus on digital classrooms, teacher training and timely syllabus completion for the improved outcome.
