Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday visited Sri Harmandir Sahib. CM Mann's Golden Temple visit was a clear cut message to miscreants who have been sending bomb threat emails to blow up Sikh's holiest shrine in Amritsar that Punjab won't get scared.
During his visit to Golden Temple, CM Mann first paid obeisance and then addressed the media on how the investigation is going to nab the bomb threat email sender.
Addressing the media, CM Mann said, "In this matter, a discussion was held to verify whether the content we received earlier matches the current material. We are investigating the origin of these emails."
"We cannot compromise on the security of a place where people from all over the world come to pray for the safety of themselves and their families. We are very close to identifying the main culprit or the mischievous elements involved. This is a very high security matter so I cannot tell much about it."
We have informed the SGPC that if you have vital clues in this case then share them with us so that we can work together to catch those responsible. Apart from this, Punjab Police officials are present in civil dresses both inside and outside Sri Darbar Sahib. Security has also been increased in Amritsar city."
As per reports, Golden Temple has received as many as nine threat emails in the past few days. In this case, a Haryana-bases 'unemployed' software engineer was also detained.
On Monday evening, Amritsar Airport also received a bomb threat following which security was beefed up.
