

Punjab is expected to receive more rainfall and thunderstorms over next few days and according to the latest weather forecast, the weather department has predicted light to moderate rain across different parts of state from June 30 to July 6 while some places may also receive heavy rainfall between July 2 and July 4 and again on July 6.
During the last 24 hours light to moderate rain along with gusty winds was reported at isolated places in Punjab and warm night conditions were also recorded at some places. The highest maximum temperature in state was 44.4 degrees Celsius at Bathinda Airport while the lowest minimum temperature was 26.7 degrees Celsius at Pathankot Airport.
The weather department has said that there will not be any major change in maximum temperature during the next three days and after that temperatures are expected to fall gradually as rainfall becomes more widespread.
On July 1 light to moderate rainfall is likely at a few places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala and SAS Nagar (Mohali) while isolated rainfall is also expected in Ferozepur, Moga, Barnala and Mansa and thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are likely at isolated places in many of these districts.
The weather is expected to become more active from July 2 and light to moderate rainfall is likely at most places in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar and SAS Nagar (Mohali) while many places in Gurdaspur, Nawanshahar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur and Fatehgarh Sahib are also expected to receive rain along with this heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Rupnagar and SAS Nagar (Mohali). Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also expected.
A similar weather pattern is likely on July 3. Heavy rain is expected at isolated places in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala and SAS Nagar (Mohali) while many other districts, including Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Kapurthala, Gurdaspur and Sangrur are also likely to receive light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds.
On July 4 heavy rain is again likely at isolated places in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala and SAS Nagar (Mohali) and light to moderate rainfall is expected across many districts while thunderstorms, lightning and winds of 40 to 50 kmph may affect isolated places.
