
Delegates from Hockey Victoria, Australia, visited the NRI Sabha office in Jalandhar today. They were warmly welcomed by Mrs. Parvinder Kaur Banga, President NRI Sabha Punjab, and Mr. Nitin Kohli, Incharge Jalandhar Central, President Hockey Punjab & Vice President Hockey India.
During the meeting, a tie-up was established between Punjab and Australia in the field of hockey. The delegates announced that hockey players from Punjab will now have the opportunity to play in Australia, giving local talent a chance to gain international exposure.
On this occasion, Nitin Kohli said that the collaboration will prove to be a milestone for Punjab hockey. He added that Punjab has always been the land of champions, and with international partnerships, young players will get world-class training and opportunities to represent themselves on the global stage. He expressed confidence that Punjab can once again become the powerhouse of Indian hockey.
The visiting Australian delegates included Andrew and Brad Vanderwert.
Also present on the occasion were Jalandhar Police Commissioner Mrs. Dhannpreet Kaur, Surjit Hockey Tournament CEO- Iqbal Singh Sandhu, General Secreatary- Surinder Singh, Jatinder, Chatyina Mahajan, Nitin Mahajan, Surjit Singh, Lakh Raj Nayyar, Gurmeet Singh, and Avtar Singh.
