A holiday has been announced for all government and private schools and colleges across Jalandhar district on August 17, 2026 (Monday).
The announcement was made by Punjab Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat, who attended the district-level Independence Day समारोह at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium in Jalandhar as the chief guest.
The minister also appreciated the students for their impressive and patriotic performances during the celebrations, saying their presentations added colour and grandeur to the district-level function.
