Former Punjab Chief Minister and BJP leader Captain Amarinder has reportedly admitted that he misses his former political party. Captain Amarinder was in the Congress party when he was serving as Chief Minister of Punjab. However, infighting in Congress, especially between Captain Amarinder and Navjot Sidhu Sidhu led to CM's ouster from the grand old party. However, it paved way for Charanjit Singh Channi to become Chief Minister of Punjab.
Captain Amarinder Singh recently expressed that he misses Congress and also slammed Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu, Navjot Singh Sidhu's wife over 'Rs 500 crore for Punjab CM post' remarks.
In an interview with a news channel, Amarinder Singh said that Congress had wronged him in several ways, and this is why he parted ways with the party. However, the former Punjab CM admitted that he still 'misses Congress' to some extent.
He also outlined that he rarely gets to meet with BJP's High Command, adding that the party works with 'strict internal rules'. Captain expressed that even for upcoming 2027 Punjab Elections, noone from the BJP has asked him about who should fight polls from where.
Slamming Navjot Kaur Sidhu, Captain Amarinder said that her allegations that to become Punjab CM from Congress party you need to give Rs 500 crore in a suitcase is totally baseless.
