A distinguished leader in academic and higher education, Prof. (Dr.) Yadwinder Singh Brar takes the charge of 20th Vice Chancellor (officiating) of I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University Jalandhar-Kapurthala on Thursday. He has taken charge of the recently vacant post of Vice-Chancellor after the completion of tenure of recent past Vice Chancellor Dr. Susheel Mittal. The Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Government of Punjab has issued the order & given additional charge of the vacant post of Vice-Chancellor to Prof. Brar as Dean of Faculty of the University. Prof. Brar is currently serving as Dean Academic and Head of the Electrical Engineering Department of the University. Prof. (Dr.) Brar thanked HE Governor of Punjab cum University Chancellor Sh.Gulab Chand Kataria ji, Chief Minister of Punjab S. Bhagwant Singh Mann ji, Technical Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains ji, University Board Chairman Sh. Anoop Bector, along with all other dignitaries, for considering him of this responsibility.
Prof. (Dr.) Yadwinder Singh Brar has a great name and recognition in the field of Electrical Engineering. Prof. (Dr.) Brar is a native of Moga district of Punjab and has studied Electrical Engineering from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He has 34 years of experience in teaching, research and administration. Professor Brar has served as a faculty at Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering & Technology, Bathinda and Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana. Thousands of students he has taught are established names in the field of engineering at the global level. More than 200 research papers are to his name.
On the occasion of his assuming office as Vice Chancellor, the recitation of Shri Sukhmani Sahib and prayers were held in the University Vice Chancellor Secretariat for the better future of the University, the bright academic future of the students and the welfare of all. The University Officers Association and the Employees Association welcomed him and wished him.
