
Multiple districts of Punjab on Tuesday was hit by torrential rainfall. Jalandhar City witnessed multiple hours of rain starting at 5 am. As expected, multiple areas of Jalandhar witnessed water-logging.
Notably, IMD Chandigarh on Monday had predicted multiple districts on heavy rainfall alert. However, Jalandhar was not in their list on July 22.
Interestingly, Punjab's self-proclaimed weatherman Baljinder Singh Maan on July 21 shared his video on mosam_panjab_da Instagram handle and gave a weather forecast. In his weather forecast, Baljinder Singh Maan informed his followers that Punjab Monsoon has become active again.
Baljinder Singh Maan in his video address said, "Monsoon is becoming active once again. Even today rain has been seen in some areas of Punjab. A light western system is also coming. Western disturbance has become quite active. The moist wind blowing from the Bay of Bengal is reaching Punjab. Monsoon will remain active in many areas of Punjab for the next 2-3 days. There is an effect of Western disturbance."
"Heavy rain had started in Himachal after midnight. After that rain started in many areas of Punjab like Chandigarh, Ropar, Mohali, Patiala. Fatehgarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and its surrounding areas. July 22, 23, 24 monsoon impact is likely to be more. Monsoon has started now..it is coming down from the mountains."
Forecast of lightning and strong winds
Baljinder Singh Maan also shared Nowcasting Weather on Tuesday morning. It predicted that moderate to heavy rain is expected from Gurdaspur to Jalandhar, including Kapurthala, Mansa, and Sangrur.
He further predicted that there is also a forecast of lightning and strong winds in areas ranging from Moga to Ludhiana and Barnala.
