

Punjab Cabinet Meeting called by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday called cabinet meeting and multiple key decisions were taken. Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema after the Cabinet Meeting in a press briefing announced that the government has decided to call a Special Vidhan Sabha Session on November 24 and that too in Sri Anandpur Sahib.
The Special Vidhan Sabha Session in Sri Anandpur Sahib has been called in honour of the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
Finance Minister Cheema said, "This will be the first time in history that the Punjab Legislative Assembly session will be held outside the Assembly complex. Unlike regular Vidhan Sabha sessions, this special session will not include routine legislative business. The entire day will be dedicated solely to discussions on the philosophy, life, and teachings of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji."
Apart from Special Vidhan Sabha Session, Cheema also announced that a decision was made to create a separate cadre for the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) so that our youth could join it.
Previously, they used to go on deputation. Over 3,000 posts in Irrigation, PSPCL, and other departments, which used to go on deputation to BBMB, will soon be filled.
He added that three new posts have been approved in the Malerkotla Sports Department. Eleven posts for Registrar, Deputy Registrar, and Inspector will be filled in the Malerkotla Cooperative Department.
51 new posts have been created at CHCC Doraha.
The age limit for dental teaching faculty has been increased to 65 years, from the previous 62 years.
Sixteen CDPO posts have been regenerated, and the department will soon begin filling them.
Additionally, six posts for the Additional Principal Judge Family Court, Jalandhar have been approved.
The Minister stated that changes have been made in the industry-related department. They can divide their plots within the industrial plots allocated by PUDA, but the plot must be at least 500 yards. If the plot is 2,000 yards, it can be divided into four parts.
Authorities such as GAMADA, PUDA, GLADA, as well as private developers creating industrial parks, will now be permitted to bifurcate industrial plots. However, no plot can be reduced below 500 square yards, and all mandatory planning norms—such as road width—must be followed.
Under the Low Impact Green Habitat category, owners of delisted properties measuring 4,000 sq ft or more can now construct on up to 400 sq ft. However, the minimum plot size must be 400 sq yards, and owners will be required to pay Rs 50 per sq yard to the government.
