Hours after threatening emails triggered a security scare in Jalandhar schools, fresh threats have once again surfaced, with multiple institutions receiving similar emails warning of bomb blasts at several locations.

As per reports another threatening emails was sent in the name of a group calling itself the “Khalistan National Army,” specifically mentioning six schools in the city, a Delhi-bound train, a school assembly and the statue of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar as potential targets.

Five to six schools targeted 

The first email named Apeejay School and Delhi Public School along with another school, while, the second email mentioned City Group, Akal Academy and St Soldier Divine School.

Following the threats, police teams have been deployed to the affected schools and security checks are being carried out at the moment. Providing details regarding the matter, SP Akarshi Jain said five to six schools in Jalandhar have received these threatening emails on Monday, prompting immediate action by the police, “Police teams have been deployed at all the schools mentioned in the email and an investigation has been initiated. We appeal to the public not to panic,” she said.

Police probe on 

The officer added that besides Apeejay School, other institutions also received similar emails and asserts that a cyber team is working to trace the IP addresses and identify the source of the messages. She further adds that senior officials are in constant contact with the school managements while the probe continues.
