A road accident took place near the Jalandhar Bus Stand Flyover where a motorcyclist was badly injured after crashing into a road divider and according to local residents the rider lost control of the bike and hit the divider with force and the person fell unconscious on the road. People nearby immediately informed police personnel who were on duty under the flyover.
Police from the nearby Satluj Chowk reached the spot soon after getting the information and the injured person was taken to a hospital by ambulance for treatment and so far the identity of the victim has not been confirmed.
Officials said that only one person was injured in the incident and the exact reason behind the accident is still not clear. Police are trying to find out whether the bike hit a pole or divider on its own or if another vehicle was involved. An investigation has been started and further details are expected soon.
