Aam Aadmi Party's Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora on Wednesday was granted bail by the High Court. Raman Arora was lodged in jail in a high-profile corruption case.
On the morning of May 23, the Punjab Vigilance team arrested MLA Raman Arora on charges of corruption. It was among those rare events when a ruling political party took legal action against its own party's MLA.
His son Rajan Arora, was also named in the case. He was recently granted interim bail by the High Court and has been instructed to cooperate fully with the investigation.
For the unversed, Raman Arora has been accused of conniving with officials of the Municipal Corporation by sending across fake notices of violations of norms and blackmailing people.
