Taking swift action after heavy rainfall, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has directed all Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) to conduct immediate assessments of damage caused to houses, crops, and livestock. He instructed that reports, prepared in collaboration with the Revenue and Agriculture Departments, must be submitted within two days so that timely relief can be extended to affected families.
The Deputy Commissioner further ordered that citizens should not face any delay in receiving compensation and relief materials. He asked the District Revenue Officer to coordinate with SDMs and other officials to ensure smooth distribution of aid and rehabilitation support.
Along with household and crop losses, Dr. Aggarwal emphasized the need to conduct a detailed survey of damages to public infrastructure including roads and government buildings. He instructed SDMs to work with PWD, NHAI, Municipal Corporation, Panchayat and Development officers to complete reports within the given timeline.
To ensure public safety and convenience, the Deputy Commissioner also directed the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to begin repair of damaged city roads, drainage systems, and public infrastructure immediately. Departments including PWD and NHAI have also been tasked with restoring roads and ensuring proper water drainage.
Dr. Aggarwal assured citizens that relief and rehabilitation work is already underway and the administration is fully committed to ensuring no eligible person is left without support. He reiterated that all claims for compensation will be processed swiftly in line with government guidelines.
