A long-running dispute involving a hospital in Jalandhar has taken a fresh turn after the Governor intervened in the matter, and following the intervention, a report related to the controversy has reportedly reached the Chief Minister’s Office, with a demand for action against those accused of failing to perform their duties properly.
The matter concerns a dispute between two parties linked to the hospital.
Complaints had allegedly been made earlier, with claims that despite the complaints, no appropriate action was taken and the matter was not properly investigated.
According to reports, the handling of the case has also raised questions over the role of some police officials and two to three doctors and they have allegedly been accused of preventing or obstructing an inquiry into the matter.
The allegations have now become a key part of the latest developments.
The issue remained under spotlight for some time, with questions being raised over why the complaints did not result in a proper inquiry or action and the latest intervention has brought the matter back before the government and shifted the focus towards the conduct of the officials and medical professionals allegedly involved.
After the Governor’s intervention, a report concerning the matter was sent to the Chief Minister’s Office and along with the report, a demand has reportedly been put forward for action against those allegedly responsible for not carrying out their official responsibilities properly.
The demand is based on the allegation that the concerned officials failed to ensure a proper inquiry and did not perform their duties in a manner that could have helped establish the facts and deliver justice in the dispute.
The matter is now before the state government, which is expected to examine the report and the allegations raised in connection with the hospital dispute and the controversy has once again put the spotlight on the handling of complaints involving the hospital and raised questions over whether the earlier allegations were adequately investigated.
