The investigation into the Jalandhar lecturer Neha murder case has taken another turn, with a ₹1.25-crore house in Mehar Enclave becoming a point of contention.
Vishal Sharma, husband of Satpal Kaur, has alleged that the house was built largely with his earnings and financial support from his parents but was later transferred into Satpal’s name after she allegedly obtained a Power of Attorney from him.
Vishal is now pursuing legal action over the property as well as matters concerning his daughter. The allegations have not been independently verified, and the other side’s response is awaited.
‘I Put My Life Savings Into Building the House’
According to Vishal, the house at Mehar Enclave’s Kukki Dhaba area was constructed at Satpal’s insistence as she wanted to live in Jalandhar while he was away for work.
He claims that he invested his savings accumulated during his years of employment in the construction. He further alleges that his father sold a plot in Patiala to contribute money, while his mother provided jewellery to help with the construction expenses.
Vishal says the property was intended to provide a permanent home for his wife and family.
‘She Took the Power of Attorney and Transferred the House’
Vishal alleges that while he was working in Hyderabad, Satpal asked him to give her Power of Attorney so that she could handle property-related matters in Jalandhar.
He claims that, relying on his wife, he agreed. However, he alleges that Satpal subsequently used the authority to get the property’s transfer deed executed in her own name.
Vishal says he came to know about the alleged transfer on February 3, 2026. He is now challenging the matter through legal proceedings.
The legal validity of the alleged transfer will ultimately depend on the relevant property documents and the outcome of the proceedings.
Facebook Friendship Turned Into Marriage
Vishal says he first met Satpal through Facebook. Their friendship gradually developed into a relationship, and the couple got married on May 20, 2015.
He claims that he trusted his wife completely and therefore never questioned her personal relationships.
‘I Later Found Out About Umang’
Vishal alleges that their relationship deteriorated over time and disagreements became frequent.
According to him, he travelled to Jalandhar on February 3, 2026, and subsequently learned about Satpal’s alleged relationship with Umang Bassi.
He claims that Umang frequently visited the Mehar Enclave house and alleges that the two had a close relationship.
These allegations have not been independently verified.
CCTV Cameras Added to His Suspicion
Vishal claims that he had access to the CCTV cameras installed at the house through his mobile phone.
According to him, the cameras were switched off on several occasions. He particularly recalls an instance when the CCTV allegedly remained switched off for around two hours before Satpal left the house.
Vishal says the repeated incidents increased his suspicion that things were being kept from him.
Husband Alleges Assault by Umang
Vishal has also alleged that Umang Bassi assaulted him after he came to know about the alleged relationship.
He claims that he was abused, slapped, his shirt was torn and an attempt was made to choke him. Vishal says he subsequently underwent a medical examination at a civil hospital and submitted a written complaint at Division No. 7 police station.
The allegations and details of any police action could not be independently verified for this report.
‘I Went to File a Complaint, But Action Was Taken Against Me’
Vishal further alleges that when he reached the police station with his complaint, Satpal and Umang were already there.
He claims that political influence was used to prevent action on his complaint and alleges that he was instead detained.
He also claims that his parents were threatened with legal action and that he was pressured into signing papers.
The police’s official response to these specific allegations was not available at the time of publication.
Husband Seeks House and Daughter’s Rights
Vishal says he is now fighting a legal battle to regain control of the house and secure his rights concerning his daughter.
He has also alleged that Satpal owns two other properties gifted by her parents.
According to Vishal, disputes over money and property became a major source of conflict in their relationship.
Claims of Threat to His Life
Vishal has approached the Jalandhar Police Commissioner seeking protection and strict action.
He claims that WhatsApp conversations have increased his concerns about his safety and alleges that he fears possible harm to himself.
He has also sought the recovery of property documents, jewellery and cash that he claims belong to him.
Property Dispute Linked by Husband to Neha Murder Allegations
Vishal has alleged that financial and property interests were behind the alleged relationship between Satpal and Umang and has further accused Umang of having a role in the murder of his wife, lecturer Neha.
These are serious allegations and remain claims at this stage. Their connection, if any, to the Neha murder investigation will have to be established through the police investigation and judicial proceedings.
For now, the ₹1.25-crore Mehar Enclave property dispute has added another layer to an already closely watched Jalandhar case, with the legal status of the property and the allegations between the parties yet to be finally determined.
