The India Meteorological Department (IMD) of Chandigarh unit on Saturday issued thunderstorm and lightning alert in multiple districts of Punjab. Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and various other districts are likely to be hit thunderstorm along with lightning on February 1 i.e. on Sunday.
This is the third time in last few days that various districts of Punjab will receive thunderstorm along with lightning. IMD has pinned the reason of thunderstorm in Punjab and other states to active western disturbance.
Punjab districts that are on thunderstorm alert- Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala and Sangrur
Along with thunderstorm and lightning, strong wind up to 30-40 kmph is also expected to blow in the aforementioned districts.
According to Apple Weather App, thunderstorm is likely hit Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Tarn Taran, Nawanshahr, Mohali, etc by 6 pm on February 1.
