

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) of Chandigarh unit on Thursday put multiple districts of Punjab on orange and yellow alert. While most of the districts of Punjab are likely to witness dense to very dense fog on January 29 and January 30, the weather will change on February 1.
IMD Chandigarh has predicted that thunderstorm along with lightning is likely to return to Punjab and will hit multiple districts.
On February 1, Punjab districts like- Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Patiala are likely to be hit by thunderstorm.
On the other hand, Meteorological Centre Shimla on January 28 weather report predicted that from February 4 light to moderate rain, snow are likely to be witnessed in many places in Himachal.
Furthermore, light rain, and snow are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Notably, weather website AccuWeather has already predicted afternoon rainfall in Shimla on February 1.
Now, the question arises will biting cold return to Punjab again amid prediction of thunderstorm in the state and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh?
The answer is no. According to Apple Weather App, thunderstorm in the region is likely to lower the lowest temperature. However, there will be no significant in the higher temperature.
In Jalandhar, lowest temperature in the region is likely to be 9°C, while highest temperature is likely to be 20°C. Similar weather pattern will continue for the next few days.
Amritsar is expected to be colder than Jalandhar. On February 2, lowest temperature is expected to 7°C, while highest is expected to be 19°C.
Kapurthala is also expected to be cooler than Jalandhar with lowest temperature on February 2 is expected to be 8°C, and highest is expected to be at 20°C.
Nawanshahr is expected to witness similar weather as compared to Jalandhar with lowest temperature is expected to be 9°C on February 2 and highest is expected to be at 20°C.
