The curious case of Jalandhar man getting Driving License (DL) and that too by sitting abroad on study visa has raised many eyebrows. Many are terming it a big scam in Punjab RTO offices that have been ongoing. Keeping the seriousness of the situation in mind an investigation into the case has been launched.
The RTO has assigned the investigation to ATO Vishal Goyal, who visited the track that evening. He stated that he approached Sandeep Kumar, who conducts driving tests at the track, and requested the applicant's documents to determine when he applied and when he took the test.
There are allegations that someone else took the driving test for the man sitting abroad. Just like the famous 'Munna Bhai' when a well learned student gives exam for another student.
Talking about the latest update, sources in the known development stated that ATO conducted inquiries both the day before yesterday and again today. Although he has not yet received complete documentary evidence, it is now almost certain that the licence was issued fraudulently.
Now, the question arises whoever is found guilty in this, will he be issued a fine or dismissed from the job? The decision to dismiss is in ATO hands, and to file an FIR they will have to approach to the CP. Additionally, the fraudulently issued license may be cancelled.
Earlier, ATO Vishal Goyal visited the applicant's home in Pakka Bagh, where it was discovered that Krishna Khurana had gone to Europe in March on a study visa, not Canada.
His family members stated that only his elder son could provide any information regarding this matter, and due to personal commitments, he would only be available for discussion after November 7th.
On the other hand, ATO Kamlesh Kumari, in charge of the driving track, stated that two notices have been sent to the applicant's home address to hear his side of the story.
The notices were sent via speed post on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday is a public holiday, so it is expected that someone from his family will come to represent the applicant on Thursday. Because all procedures must be completed before any action can be taken.
