Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora was granted bail by the High Court on Wednesday. Arora has been lodged in jail for the past many months over corruption charges. Now, it seems like Raman Arora will have continue remain in jail despite being granted bail.
As per reports, another case has been registered against MLA Raman Arora under serious sections like extortion in Rama Mandi police station of Jalandhar Police and in this case the police is preparing to bring Raman Arora on a product warrant..
If the police succeeds in bringing him on a product warrant, then Raman will have to stay in jail in this new case for the time being.
An ATP named Sukhdev Vashisht was caught by the Vigilance Department on 14 May 2025 in Jalandhar city.. After questioning the ATP, MLA Raman Arora's name came up in corruption cases. Thereafter, the vigilance arrested MLA Raman Arora from his house on the 23 May 2025.
At that time the vigilance recovered gold jewellery weighing more than 1 kg and cash worth about 6 lakhs from the MLA's house. In this case the MLA was serving jail sentence for 106 days.
