
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) of Chandigarh unit on Saturday put Punjab on 3-days of thunderstorm and hail alert. With latest prediction over Punjab Rainfall, the weather in the state is expected to flip and the first essence of winters is likely to be felt.

October 5- On orange alert- Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Ferozepur, Moga, Faridkot, Muktasar, and Fazilka
On yellow alert- Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Ludhiana, SAS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Sangrur, Mansa, Barnala, and Bathinda
October 6- On orange alert- Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Ludhiana, SAS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, and Sangrur

IMD has revealed the technical reason why Punjab weather is all set to change from October 5. IMD's official release reads, "A Western Disturbance is likely to become active over Northwest India from October 4, 2025. It is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region and the adjoining plains of Northwest India during 05th to 07th October 2025."
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh on 6th October 2025.
Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Punjab on 5th to 7th October 2025 and Haryana & Chandigarh on 6th to 7th October 2025.
Hailstorm is likely at isolated places on 5th and 6th October in Punjab and on 6th October in Haryana.
