One accused held with 1 kg opium during checking
Jalandhar Police have arrested three people in a drug-related case and recovered 1 kg of opium, 5,000 Prega tablets, 3,000 other intoxicating pills and ₹22,000 in cash, according to police.
ADCP-2 Madhvi Sharma said the main accused, identified as Shubham Sharma, was arrested during a police checkpoint. Police said the opium was recovered during a search conducted at the naka.
Two more accused arrested after questioning
According to the police, Shubham Sharma was questioned following his arrest, after which two alleged associates were also taken into custody. The accused are reportedly aged between 24 and 25 years.
Police said one of the arrested accused is from Kapurthala, while Shubham Sharma is a resident of Babu Labh Singh Nagar.
Pills allegedly brought from another state
During the investigation, police reportedly found that the accused had allegedly brought a consignment of intoxicating tablets from another state.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and further questioning of the accused could reveal additional details about the alleged supply network.
Case registered at police station 5
A case has been registered at police station 5, and further investigation is underway. ADCP-2 Madhvi Sharma said the police are conducting a detailed probe into the case and are examining the accused's alleged links in the drug supply chain.
