The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has achieved a major breakthrough by arresting two absconding accused involved in a firing incident near Gym ‘Off the Grid’ in Model Town, Jalandhar. Police also recovered 02 pistols (.32 bore) and 02 live cartridges from their possession.
Sharing details, Commissioner of Police Jalandhar, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur, said that the operation was carried out under the supervision of DCP/Inv. Sh. Manpreet Singh Dhillon, ADCP/Inv. Sh. Jayant Puri , ADCP-II Sh. Harinder Singh Gill and ACP (D) Sh. Amarbir Singh, by the police teams of Inspector Surinder Kumar, Incharge CIA Staff and Sh. Balwinder Kumar, SHO Division No.6 Jalandhar.
She informed that an FIR No. 122 dated 02.07.2025 u/s 109, 62, 61(2) BNS, 25-54-59 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Division No. 6, Jalandhar. Earlier, during the investigation, on 23.07.2025 police had arrested Bhupinder Singh, son of Late Nirmal Singh, resident of Garupur, PS Aur, District SBS Nagar and recovered 01 pistol (.32 bore) and 01 live cartridge from him.
Further investigation and technical sources led the Jalandhar police to arrest two more accused involved in the incident on 30.11.2025. The arrested accused have been identified as: Rajat, son of Surjit Singh, resident of Village Pholrewal, PS Sadar Jalandhar and Hardeep Singh, son of Gurmail Singh, resident of Village Pholrewal, PS Sadar Jalandhar. Police have recovered 02 pistols (.32 bore) and 02 live cartridges from them.
Accused Rajat is previously involved in 1 criminal case, while accused Hardeep Singh is facing 2 criminal cases. Both arrested accused have been remanded to police custody and further investigation is underway.
