

Jalandhar Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of special security arrangements in the city and these traffic diversions will come into effect after 11 AM, commuters have been advised to plan their journey in advance and follow traffic police directions.
According to the advisory, traffic movement will be diverted or regulated at 31 key locations across the city. These include:

4. Thimmaya Park Cantt T-Point
5. Nangal Shama Chowk
6. Dhilwan Chowk
7. Rama Mandi Flyover
8. BSF Chowk
9. Defence Colony
10. Police Line Side to Bus Stand Bridge
11. Akshardham Cut
12. Chugitti Underbridge
13. Chugitti BBMB Colony (Near Power Plant)
14. Pathankot Chowk
15. Transport Nagar
16. Kishanpura Chowk
17. Lamma Pind Chowk
18. Lamma Pind Pul
19. Nakodar Chowk
20. Kapurthala Chowk
21. Workshop Chowk
22. Maqsudan Chowk
23. Verka Milk Plant

The advisory also includes special diversions for heavy vehicles such as containers, trucks and tippers coming from outside districts and traffic travelling from Ludhiana to Amritsar will be diverted via Phagwara, Satnampura, Jandiala, Nakodar, Kapurthala and Subhanpur.
Traffic travelling from Ludhiana to Hoshiarpur or Pathankot will be diverted from Konica Resort near Chandigarh Bypass via Mehtiana, Hoshiarpur and Dasuya, while traffic travelling from Moga to Pathankot will be diverted through Nakodar, Kapurthala, Subhanpur, Nadala and Tanda.
Bus routes have also been revised and buses from Jalandhar to Amritsar will travel via Kapurthala and Subhanpur, buses from Jalandhar to Hoshiarpur will be diverted via Nakodar Chowk, Kapurthala Chowk, Verka Milk Plant, Pathankot Chowk, Kishangarh and Adampur.
Buses from Jalandhar to Ludhiana will travel via Samra Chowk, 66 Foot Road, Jamsher, GNA Chowk, Haveli and Phagwara. Buses coming from Pathankot to Jalandhar will be diverted through Pathankot Chowk, Maqsudan Chowk, Workshop Chowk, Kapurthala Chowk and Nabedar Chowk before reaching Jalandhar Bus Stand.
Earlier, Special DGP Sinha said the Prime Minister is expected to arrive in Jalandhar at around 3:30 pm and will remain in the city for approximately one-and-a-half hours and according to him, the Prime Minister will visit Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station, where he will dedicate the newly redeveloped railway station to the public, along with this the Prime Minister will also virtually inaugurate 74 other redeveloped railway stations across the country.
