Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda will be seen on the big screen once again, posthumously—similar to how fans witnessed Sidhu Moosewala’s cinematic presence after his passing. Nine years after it was filmed, Rajvir’s movie Yamla has finally been given a release date. The makers have announced that the film will be released in theatres on November 28, along with its official poster.

According to the family, their intention is not to earn money from the project but to keep Rajvir Jawanda alive in the hearts of people as an artist. Their decision mirrors the sentiment shown by Sidhu Moosewala’s family, who ensured that his creative legacy continued beyond his life.

The film was shot in 2019, and the Jawanda family recently hinted on social media that preparations for the release were underway. They have also contacted the film’s director to complete the remaining requirements.

The family shared an emotional message, stating that while an artist may leave this world, their art remains immortal. This belief guided their decision to bring Yamla to the audience.

What happened to Rajvir Jawanda?

On September 27, Rajvir Jawanda met with a tragic road accident while traveling on his bike from Baddi to Shimla. Near Pinjore, he lost control of the bike while trying to avoid two bulls fighting on the road. He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Mohali, where he battled for his life for 11 days.

Sadly, on the 12th day—at just 35 years of age—Rajvir Jawanda passed away, leaving behind his music, his memories, and an unfinished cinematic journey that his family now hopes to honor through Yamla.
