From intensifying the crackdown on drug traffickers to increasing police patrolling and ensuring faster response to emergency calls, Commissioner of Police Satinder Singh, IPS, on Friday laid down a clear policing roadmap for the Jalandhar Commissionerate during a high-level review meeting at Police Lines.
Addressing Gazetted Officers, SHOs, Police Post In-Charges and heads of various police units, the Commissioner asked the force to focus on stronger law enforcement, public safety and citizen-centric policing.
Key instructions issued by CP Satinder Singh
* Strengthen law and order across the city and adopt a proactive approach to crime prevention.
* Intensify the anti-drug campaign and continue strict action against drug traffickers while strengthening rehabilitation efforts for drug-affected individuals.
* Ensure timely disposal of pending investigations and public complaints within the prescribed time frame.
* Launch special drives against organised crime, drug trafficking and other illegal activities.
* Prevent snatching, robbery and street crime through better policing and intelligence.
* Keep habitual offenders under strict surveillance to curb repeat offences.
* Increase day-and-night patrolling and enhance police visibility in sensitive areas.
* Improve traffic management by taking strict action against drunk or drug-impaired driving, overspeeding, reckless driving and other traffic violations.
* Ensure prompt response to emergency calls on 112 and 1091 so that citizens receive timely police assistance.
* Perform duties with honesty, dedication and commitment, keeping public safety and peace as the top priority.
The Commissioner said effective policing, quick response to public grievances and coordinated action against crime would further strengthen public confidence in the police and help maintain a robust law-and-order system across Jalandhar.
