

A 29-year-old man from Ludhiana is alleged to have jumped into the Bhakra Canal in Nangal, creating concern among his family members and local authorities. However, police officials have clarified that the incident has not been officially confirmed yet, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the facts.
Identification of the missing
The man has been identified as Amarjit Singh, a resident of Ludhiana, who reportedly travelled to Nangal in his car. According to preliminary information, before reaching Nangal or during his journey, Amarjit spoke to his family over the phone and allegedly said, Find me. Soon after this conversation, his phone became unreachable, raising concerns among his relatives.
Talking to a relative of the lost
In a conversation with the relative of the misplaced, he said that Amarjit left in the morning of Friday, saying he had some work. Upon calling him, he would make excuses to return in some time. Later when he was asked about his location he would change it every time to Karnal, Sirhind and Haryana. Later that night, he sent his location to the family, saying find me here but upon reaching he was’nt found anywhere
Details of the incident
According to sources, the suspected incident took place early Saturday morning at around 5 am, when information was received about a possible person jumping into the Bhakra Canal. Following the alert, police teams, local administration officials and rescue personnel immediately reached the spot and started a search operation.
Divers have been deployed to trace the missing man, while teams are continuously searching the canal area. Despite efforts, no confirmed clue or evidence regarding Amarjit Singh’s whereabouts has been found so far.
The incident has left the family devastated. It has been learnt that Amarjit Singh is married and is the father of a nine-month-old daughter. After receiving information about the incident, his family members rushed towards Nangal. The family is reportedly waiting anxiously for any update from the rescue teams.
