

A massive firing broke out between two groups during a wedding in Ludhiana on Saturday night. The wedding was taking place in Ludhiana's famous Bath Castle. As per reports, it was a lavish wedding of a contractor family.
Approximately, 800-1000 guests were expected to be present at the wedding. However, when the function was going on, a firing broke out between two groups at the wedding. In the firing two people have died. One is Neeru, a relative of the contractor and the another one is a Jalandhar-based businessman. A total of 20-25 rounds were fired during the wedding.
Notably, marriage palaces of Punjab including in Ludhiana and Jalandhar are not allowed to let any people enter the venue who are carrying weapons. Hence, apart from the people involved in firing, Ludhiana Bath Castle management, and the people who invited them at the wedding have also been booked.
The incident of firing that took place at Bath Castle occurred during the wedding of a man named Varinder. He had invited several of his friends at the function. Among those friends, there were two persons, one by the name Shubham Aggarwal and the other by the name Ankur."
Ankur had also arrived with his own friends. For some reason, Shubham and Ankur got into an argument. The argument escalated into verbal abuse, and soon after, it turned into a physical fight. Among the groups accompanying them, there were 3–4 individuals who were carrying weapons. A total of 20-25 rounds were fired.
Two guests who were shot, died in the hospital. Police reached the spot within 20 minutes. Bath Castle was sealed and people were sent to their homes. FIR has been lodged, 6 people have been rounded up. There are 6-7 more people who are seen in the CCTV footage are yet to be rounded up.
Talking to True Scoop, Ludhiana CP Swapan Sharma said, "As the Punjab Government has issued strict instructions prohibiting the entry of weapons inside marriage palaces. Accordingly, the marriage palace and its management have been booked for allowing weapons inside. The person who invited them has also been booked."
"You are providing a service, you are charging, that service have to be provided according to rules and regulations. When there is clear instruction by the Government of Punjab that marriage palaces must ensure that no person with weapon gets entry. You will have to announce repeatedly, you will have to install frisking gate for checking. But still people are coming inside the marriage palace with weapon. We will write to concerned authority to cancel their license."
