

Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has given major update on bomb threats that have been received by schools. On Monday morning, around 10 schools of Jalandhar received bomb threat via email. Soon, Jalandhar Police was informed about the threat mail and anti-sabotage teams reached to various schools.
Jalandhar DC Himanshu Aggarwal addressed the media and assured the people that everyone is safe. He also revealed that the district administration is in touch with school managements as well as with parents.
DC Himanshu Aggarwal stated that around 10 schools have received threatening emails and 3 IDs are currently under investigation. DC also denied claims that schools received 'threatening calls' saying only email were received.
DC Aggarwal said, "We learned today morning that some schools received threatening email. Around 10 schools received threatening emails from different IDs.
We got to know that anti-sabotage teams and police personnel reached the spot and carried out searches in schools. Till now nothing suspicious have been found due can spark fear or tensions in the city. Situation is under control and I assure people that you are all safe. We are in touch with school managements and parents. We have also told other schools to inform is something like this comes up. But, for now there is no need to be in fear."
Among the schools that have received bomb threat are Ivy World School in Rama Mandi, St. Joseph's Convent School situated in Cantt Road, Jalandhar, Apeejay School, DPS, and KMV.
Parents of students received messages from school administration to pick up their children from school.
A parent Tajinder Singh who reached the spot said, "I have come here to pick up my child. I received a message on WhatsApp from school. Now, I am hearing that schools have received threat mails. It is very wrong. Whether it is a rumor or real, such incidents hamper students' education."
