Kapurthala,23 May : Late tonight, reports emerged that 3–4 undertrial prisoners were injured during a clash at the Modern Jail. Several videos related to the incident are also spreading quickly on social media. According to District Police Chief Gaurav Toora, information about the clash inside the jail was received, but the situation is now under control, and police teams are performing their duties diligently.
It has also been learned that a large number of police personnel and PCR teams from different police stations in Kapurthala, under the supervision of senior officials, have reached the Modern Jail and are trying to control the situation.
According to information received, there are also reports that one or two barracks inside the jail were set on fire. However, no senior police official has confirmed this so far. Until the filing of this report, PCR teams had been deployed at the Civil Hospital, but by around 10:30 PM, no prisoner or undertrial had been brought there for treatment. Police teams are currently investigating the entire incident.

admitted that situation is tense there and he himself also reached the spot to control the situation.
