What began as a reported Rs 3 crore robbery has now turned into a far bigger case, with fresh inputs indicating that the amount looted might be closer to Rs 7 crore, prompting a wider investigation. Yesterday, an incident of armed robbery was reported in Gurdaspur where robbers looted nearly Rs 3 crore (as per initial reports) in cash and jewelry from a residence. However now, new details have been surfacing revealing that apart from the above-mentioned items the robbers also took along the jeweler’s vehicle.

What really happened?

The incident took place in Gurdaspur when five men disguised as Nihang Singhs entered a house of a goldsmith, Varun Mahajan around 8 AM. Reportedly, the robbers tied up the family members holding them hostage and looting them at gunpoint and later fleeing with cash and jewelry mounting up to Rs 7 crore. It is being reported that the robbers had also removed the CCTV camera from the house to conduct the robbery.

As of now, the police are investigating the matter and a probe is underway.
